Weird, because wearing black improved my mental health as a kid. I felt more confident in my appearance in darker clothing.
Even IF all black clothing was associated with one's mental health, why the fuck is your solution to ban it, instead of, I dunno, addressing what you seem to feel is a mental health concern?

I wore all black in high school as like a warning color. Leave me the fuck alone. I don't want to deal with your homophobic bullshit. And it worked for the most part.
But if they had addressed in any way my abuse or abusers, maybe I could have chosen different colors to wear.
Wtf they banned Goths.
"Mental health"? I want to see the study but we all know this is where the bigotry starts.
Next will be rainbow clothes.
And then pink for boys.
Then girls can't wear pants anymore.

The children are doing [blank] because their mental health is bad. Instead of addressing their mental health concerns lets punish them for expressing themselves!
Not being able to wear black would have made my mental state worse in school. One time I wore a brightly colored pair of pants in middle school and was teased relentlessly all day. I tried colors a couple other times, same thing. All black for me since then.
I wear all dark clothes to hide stains.... Literally improves my mental state.
So like, all black with gray socks is ok?
Time for all white suits and Panama hats. Nobody can look sad in those.
Color only defines a person's mental state if that color is coming from a mood ring and you believe mood rings change color based on mood and not just heat.
It sounds like this is a private school based on the phrasing of the communications. Still a dumb decision though.
The only mental issue with that is the gawkers inability to look elsewhere
