In most places there isn't one "best" camo because seasons change. For example flecktarn might be the best in summer but when fall and winter makes everything brown Multicam/OCP can become the best choice.

But this map is better than some versions with weird hard to find latterns like Alpenflage, Rhodesian Brushstroke and Finnish M05

Thanks for coming to my TED talk https://sh.itjust.works/c/camouflage

Additionaly, you might need different camo in say the toys section of a walmart vs the parking lot

You joke (walmart people need their own nature documentary) but if someone ever figured out urban camouflage militaries would pay stupid amounts of money for it

That's not just camouflage, that's a full-blown urban ghillie suit.

Again to be clear, this is separate from being anywhere within a 5-mile range of Walmart, where entirely different rules apply:-). For that, the clothing is more... optional.

I'm within 5 miles of a Wal-Mart and -- this is true -- currently not dressed. So that checks out.

(I'm at home, though.)

I bet you have plans to put some clothes on a bit later in the day, you kinky soul you:-).

There's been at least one Airsoft player that did this, and it was incredibly effective. I'd have to hunt around for the YouTube video they posted.

Why does dai think there's suppose to be a map?

[–] Signtist@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

Because if you look closely, there's some light blue blobs near the top shaped like the great lakes.

Okay but if Arizona and New Mexico's mountain regions get forest cutouts, central Washington needs a grasslands cutout to represent its shrub-steppe habitat.

I think we could've drawn a line under the "can't see the camouflage" joke a while ago!
