Hi guys,
For a while now I've been looking to buy a DAS enclosure to backup my data (photos, movies, documents, etc.). So it would be powered on only a few hours a month. There is a lot of trash-looking cheap stuff available to buy, making it hard for me to find a good one. I read many bad reviews (about specific DAS devices and DAS in general) and only a few positive ones.
I've come across the TerraMaster D5-300C. Only a very few reviews but they are quite positive, so I'd like to hear what you think about it. I don't really care about its RAID capabilities (hence the 300C model) since I'll be using a software RAID-5. My fears are: reliability over time, speed (150+ MB/s is good for me) and heat dissipation (I've read a lot that those kind of enclosures are quite bad at it, often requiring to replace the fan by a better one).
Thank you!
