Residents in battleground states are submitting personal information to a pro-Trump PAC whose website invites them to "register to vote" — but instead of actually registering any voters, the PAC is just storing their precious voter data. Now Michigan's top elections official is opening an investigation in the so-called "America PAC," which was founded and partially funded by billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk, for potential violations of state election law.

“Every citizen should know exactly how their personal information is being used by PACs, especially if an entity is claiming it will help people register to vote in Michigan or any other state,” a spokeswoman for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, a Democrat, said in a statement to CNBC.

It's funny that the right never calls him an immigrant.

Seeing as we’re saying the quiet parts out loud now, it’s become pretty obvious that ‘immigrant’ is code for ‘looks sufficiently different for me to notice’

Huh... I wonder what the scheme is here.

What does the Trump campaign gain by inviting people to register to vote through that PAC, then not actually registering them?

What they'd end up with then is some number of Trump supporters who believe that they're registered to vote, only to discover on Election Day that they're not. Which could then serve as part of the make-believe evidence with which they intend to claim fraud.

One way or another, I think it's certain that it's tied up with a scheme by which they plan to claim fraud, since that's clearly their intention.

That's a good point. It could be clueless techy people who don't have time to check into voting too. They'll process the ones that are "their side" and not process the other ones?
