Looking at changing out the guts for my NAS - currently have a 6600k and considering an onboard N305 from CWWK. This is just a Plex box running unRAID.
The biggest gain I see are gains are to ways:
- Better SATA organization - current ITX board has angled headers and the CWWK has vertical, easier to access if needing to replace a SATA cable
- Quick sync - I don’t run many 4Ks but the ones I do are jittery - also, looking at ErsatzTV and dont think the onboard 6600k would handle that well without QuickSync acceleration.
- power consumption, IIRC, 6600k is 90w and N305 sips at 15W.
Not sure on other specs or if this w old be an overall downgrade, don’t typically use the built server processors, just consumer grade. Just curious what folks reactions and thoughts are.
