"to stave off financial ruin" is some pretty intense editorializing by RPS. They missed an earnings expectation, and yet they still had the highest active player numbers in history on Steam. The made-up goal was intentionally unreachable, to give Sony the excuse to do this whenever they wanted. Bungie was fine.

Amazing the level of risk businessmen can take and force developers to chew when it comes crashing in....

Sure.

You can just ignore the big publishers and their developers, all the interesting stuff in games is happening in the Indie scene.

While I agree. I was mostly mentioning it as you can't play destiny on the steamdeck. Well you can but Bungie will permaban you.

Oh, I just took that as a given since I gave up on live service games when Warframe introduced an utter timewaster of a rival system.
