This is the best summary I could come up with:
WA Premier Roger Cook is standing firmly behind his government's policies on fracking in the Kimberley as environmental groups call for him to change his position as the state's new leader.
His comments come in the wake of the Environs Kimberley rally of support for the anti-fracking movement, which had a significant attendance in Broome on Saturday.
The group called on the premier to introduce a total ban in the region almost five years after the government lifted its moratorium on fracking.
"This is a balanced and responsible policy that supports economic development, new jobs, environmental protection, and landowner rights," the premier said.
Environs Kimberley director of strategy Martin Pritchard said his organisation would not rest until fracking was completely banned up north.
The environmental advocate said northern WA and the Canning Basin would continue to be at risk of hydraulic fracturing until a total ban was introduced.
