I run in my homelab a storage server based on windows server 2022, leveraging windows storage spaces.

Currently I'm running 10 disks in a main pool with mixed resiliency levels for volumes, of course dual-parity volumes for the more critical. Now my question is, my rack case has 24 disk bays, planning future expansions what is the safe limit in number of disk for a RAID6 (dual-parity) pool?

should I go with 2 different storage pools made of 12 disks each or one large one on all 24drives?

searching online I didn't find any guideline specific for WSS
