I just got a Pioneer BDR-209DBK Blue Ray drive gifted from a neighbor. I'm new to data hoarding. I want to digitalize my private movie BD collection and store them in 4K on my home NAS.

I've heard the biggest problem with Blue Ray drives is the firmware blocking people from ripping movies.

Does this affect my drive? What would I've to do to be able to digitalize my movies?
