The only chance for healthcare reform is to preserve democracy. If Trump wins and legalizes ballot stuffing, state legislatures overturning voters, etc. we won’t have a real election again for a very long time.

You can't preserve something you never had to start off with.

Doomerism gets you nowhere.

Voting for the 70% Hitler instead of the 100% Hitler is the right move, not because it will save you or solve any of your problems, but because it gives you time, to create solutions.

Rich fucks won't save you. Community and cooperation might. But those need time.

So vote for the least fascistic fascist available, and use the time to find solutions.

Fine and dandy - choose the least worst-seeming option. I didn't tell you who to vote for - what I'm telling you is that irregardless of who wins in November, people are going to have to start coming to grips with the fact that "liberal democracy" hasn't turned out to be very democratic. If it did, this mess wouldn't have been able to exist in the first place.

Will electing an authoritarian promising ethnic clensing and codified class systems to further harm the poor and middle class create a democracy?

No!?

I'M SHOCKED!!!

Good... I'm glad somebody is willing to admit that we don't actually get to exist within democratic societies. It's a start - it's very difficult to do something about a problem when nobody will even admit to the problem existing.

I'd laugh... but my country's politics is just as bad.

"Would you fuck over the poor?"

"I'd fuck over the poor."

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a hot button topic starting from our side

I want healthcare too but it doesn't have nearly as much support in the Dem representatives as it does from the voters. I have zero expectations. Mostly because of the legal bribery.

Ugh just fuck this country so hard.. I have to pay $5000 yearly for healthcare.. I'd prefer to pay 20% more in tax to have non deductible usable health insurance. Just bring in more carbon taxes, and drop the oil subsidies

the best thing is, you wouldn't have to. The current US healthcare system costs more in taxes than the free healthcare in Europe.
