Hiya,

maybe i'm wrong, but for some reason, i think solidigm SSD (the cheap ones) are RAM less, and they make it up in excellent firmware and using the system memory.

if that is the case, what happens to the usability of the SSD when i put it in a m.2 to usb box and use it as a storage backup? but then again, most of it will be 4k serial I/O. But i do need it to work as fast as a hard disk if i want to occasionally edit a file.

i'm asking cuz solidigm SSD are much much cheaper per GB than any other solution.
