I've got a very janky but working setup (tested on 2.5" ssd)

M93p tiny (my server):

mPCIE > mPCIE to 2x SATA 3.0 > external disk

USB 2.0 (3W power but it's connected to usb 3.0 so technically 5W) + USB 3.0 (5W power + data) > sata power extender to seperate it from sata data > external disk

I can either get a 2TB ssd (crucial mx500) or 12TB hdd (forgot name but it's on serverpartdeals refurbished for same price as the ssd)

My issue is that the hdd consumes way more than 8W and won't work in my janky setup (too little power output), any tips on how to power the hdd if I we're to get it?

I'm making a very compact archive of books, software, os, movies, and it would be nice to have 12TB for theese.

I can technically get my old desktop computer that is like 15 years old back to life, but I'd have to figure out how to showe Ubuntu 22.04LTS on it (I'm getting errors that the intall medium is corrupted, but actually the mobo is too old for it. (No setting in rufus changes the outcome).

External psu for the hdd is ok, I just coudn't find any.
