The car is a Dongfeng M-Hero 917. It's Chinese.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 97 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh no! We're not even the #1 at making gun-cars?

[–] whodatdair@lemmy.blahaj.zone 48 points 1 year ago

Deh terk er jerbs!

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I see China is on board with the monitors that look like they were glued to the dashboard and not actually part of it asthetic. I like that both driver and passenger get a neat throttle control. What does it do?

twin throttle controls are usually for different engines; it's not one set for the pilot flying and another for the pilot monitoring.

maybe this vehicle has two engines to allow its owner to really gun it?

I see what you did there.

It actually has four engines. One for each wheel.

Oh I bet they touch it sometimes.

And apparently it's amazing. I'm sure it has lots of spyware.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Amazing? It looks like it was designed by my ADHD when I was 6.

[–] stom@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 1 year ago (2 children)

No, they actually finished it.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Hahaha. A deep cut and a burn.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 year ago

If he can finish dialling $emergency_number he may even get treated for that burn.

I never want to look in any direction without seeing a screen. Preferably 3.

Gotta appease the American buyers

Well that makes me not want to buy gigabyte products ever again...

[–] henfredemars 24 points 1 year ago

They do make some good products, but they also make tacticool RGB gamer motherboards that are quite showy. My latest build is all black, no lights.

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Never had any issues with mine but I know they're not known to be the best

[–] stom@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Used em for nearly 20 years but their newer stuff has some reduced build quality in favour of aesthetics. The model I bought had particularly bad coil whine (as did it's RMA replacement) so I shifted from them.

my new gigabyte mobo also has an annoyingly loud constant buzzing sound, extremely slow post and comically buggy bios. a few friends had to rma their gb mobos because DOA, loose ram slots, instability etc... also my gpu is gigabyte 3060ti and it has a lot of problems too, nvidia is mostly to blame but i think it's gigabytes fault that the fans minimum speed is very loud, around 1200 rpm. the fans are normally off but the temps climb to around 60c even when idle, then fans go WROOOOOOM for a few mins and then turn off. my new case has air intake at the bottom, 2x 140 mm fans blowing right into the gpu but still the damn gpu fans sometimes turn on even when just watching a video. and it's not because of dust, the heatsink is perfectly clean.

Why?

Most online gaming is fps or RPG. Why would a magazine be offensive if a sword wasn't.

[–] apocalypticat@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (5 children)

I'm going to guess because of the gun deaths epidemic.

American designed, not necessarily American made.

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Which is funny because that's a GLOCK, which is an Austrian pistol.

[–] MorrisonMotel6@lemm.ee 26 points 1 year ago

That is absolutely, 100% not a Glock

It's even funnier that it's a Chinese vehicle.

"No, it's not."

"No...no, it's not... But you can imagine what it would be like if it was, right?"

[–] Waldowal@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's one way to ensure you get shot by the police.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 3 points 1 year ago

The CCP police will at least torture you to confirm party loyalty before killing you rather than summarily executing you on the spot.

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

RoboCop gonna want his piece back.

this fits my brain on the roads lately. It’s not only American thing to drive like absolutely crazy homicidal bullet

However actual buyers may not catch the layers of irony and dark humour
