/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

"How are the red shirts suppose to die on the planet if they can't even fit inside the shuttlecraft?"

[–] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (3 children)

If there’s one thing certain about shuttles is that they’re about as dangerous as a red shirt.

That said, man, I’d love to have one of those! Practical geekiness is the best geekiness.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Red shits are definitely dangerous.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dangerous? They draw all the fire away from you. Take as many as possible.

D'oh!

That said, when you start taking fiber pills, that means you've cleared a major blockage, so it's a good thing.

Ask me how I know.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Glad to hear it, let me know when you need that pizza delivery.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

So... probably never? Will not do, I guess.

[–] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Took me a few reads but I fixed my error. This clearly wouldn’t happen if I were Vulcan or Romulan.

Come to think of it, an episode about a typo would be onpoint for Lower Decks and Boimler.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes, but is the transporter any safer?

I'd say never leave the ship, but they have an unfortunate habit of crashing into planets.

And then I'd say never leave the planet, but they have an unfortunate habit of being attacked by space ships which then crash into them.

[–] acockworkorange@mander.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

Or having a strip carved into them by round probes… which subsequently crash into them.

You can get a tent of the same design for $77. Not sure I'd trust it in inclement weather, but it's real cute. https://www.toynk.com/products/star-trek-the-next-generation-shuttlecraft-justman-2-person-camping-tent

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I'd call their claim of two-person to be generous unless those two people knew each other very well.

[–] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

The rabbit hole you’ve sent me down by showing me that site! Thanks!!

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Someone’s on a lap then.

[–] BearOfaTime@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

That would be Seven on your lap...

("It seats seven")

Who put a boot on a Starfleet ship?

[–] teft@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ferengi repo men probably.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

Brunt, FCA.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 6 points 1 year ago

Must be bigger on the inside... just like the real one!

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Equipped with a Logitech controller, too?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Why, is it going down to the Titanic?

No wait, that's a game controller.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 4 points 1 year ago (2 children)

how does it has seats for seven?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

How do people commenting here not know basic Star Trek stuff?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Galileo_Seven

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I mean, yeah I know the Galileo Seven. But that trailer there in your picture? I don't think it fits seven.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago

It's a joke.

[–] limelight79@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

The shuttle in the series is much larger on the inside than the outside.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Somebody tell me where to buy this. Is it custom or just decorated?

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

I don't know where to buy that specific type of camper, but it's definitely custom painted.

[–] _haha_oh_wow_@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

Hah, I love it.

[–] hopesdead@startrek.website 2 points 1 year ago

That is cute.
