I’m currently using a Jonsbo N1 case and I’ve stretched it to its limit with 4x 3.5” 20TB HDDs, 2x 2.5” 4TB SSDs, a half-height dual 2.5GbE PCIE card, 2x 32GB RAM sticks, a moderately large CPU cooler and a built-on NVME cooler (2TB) on my mini ITX mobo.

It’s also loud as heck and the thermal performance isn’t great.

In the near term I’m looking to add another 2TB NVME SSD, in a few months a 4090 RTX and 2 more 32GB RAM sticks, and in the long term likely another two 20TB HDDs and two higher capacity NVMEs.

Because my existing mobo doesn’t support more than one NVME I’m looking at ATX options now, and therefore also my options for a new case in the near term.

Are there any good options given these parameters? I was eyeing the recently announced Jonsbo N5 but I’m not sure I can wait until they begin shipping it. I would consider getting a compact rack, but really I’d prefer a form factor more similar to the N5.

Accommodating the listing components is mandatory, being silent and having decent thermals are top priorities, and being relatively compact, aesthetically appealing (minimalist, sturdy metal construction, little or no RGB), and having hotswappable drives are strong preferences. But I know I can’t have it all…
