Is there a cheapish and lower power way to connect 4 u.2/u.3 gen 4 drives to a 16x gen 4 pcie slot?

  1. It’s unclear to me which (lower cost) motherboards support PCIe bifurcation

  2. it’s not that obvious if any of the add in cards with oculink actually work

  3. putting u.2/u.3 drives in a consumer case seems pretty kludgy.

Has anyone solved this problem?
