Hey all, I currently have a 10tb WB Red Pro (or plus?) drive which I use for the usual *arr, media, etc. I thought moving this off onto a home server in a sense would be nice. How does Synology work for this? Is it too opinionated, and does it allow direct access with a terminal, for stuff like containers?

Also looking at hosting some game servers and resource-intensive apps. Would a straight up home server with essentially a custom built desktop be the best choice?
