My dad recently passed away and my mom has a old photo from when he was in middle school, circa 1950's. It's the original photo so it's kind of got these bumps all over it. I tried scanning it with my scanner at 1200 dpi and greyscale, because it is a black & white photo but the bumps in the photo are ultra noticable. I'm trying to get the photo as clear as possible but I'm not really sure what to do to get that result. I have a basic Epson XP446 printer/scanner. I've included the photo here so you can see what I'm talking about regarding the bumps in the photo's texture. If anyone knows of a good free program i can use to clean up the image or maybe if I should use different settings when scanning I would appreciate the help.
