I have an Android phone that I mainly use as a music player. It have a microSD card and I do backup the data every week to an external drive but I am worried that a file get curropted by bitrot (not being read/written) for a long time, and then I backup the corrupted file.

What is the best way to prevent bitrot in my situation?

The problem with bitrot is that, the curropted data is backedup and with enough time the backup will be replaced by another. So what is the best solution?

Please keep in mind, that I am intellectually challanged, I need a detailed explanation to understand things.
