We have 2 Synology DS1821+ with 60+ TB of storage each in a RAID 0 config. (I'm aware of the risks)

We back up everything from Synology 1 to Synology 2 daily. The backup takes no more than 2 hours to complete.

It seems wasteful (drives wear, electricity) to keep Synology 2 ON 24/7, or is it really?

Give me your opinions on this. Is it wise to set a schedule on Synology 2 say for only 3 hours ON time or leave it running 24/7?

Apologize if this is not the right sub!
