yes! The Bannon look with less alcoholism.
Eh, probably the same amount of alcoholism, just on a shorter time scale IMO.
oof, not wrong. The multi-polo Stifler bros are probably not ok.
I met one of them recently that I knew from my heyday of going to college parties and drinking rich kids’ alcohol for free, and he’s a landlord, of course.
what an ass. at least you got some free drinks out of him.

Every outfit in the 2000s was sincerely awful
and that is why was awesome
Watching Star Wars Episode 1 as a tween and not understanding the bullhorn racism in some of the alien caricatures. Never mind the greater zeitgeist of casual racism against Muslims thanks to the "war on" terror and the casual homophobia.
I had a legit moment when the I learned about Watto. Same day somebody shared the anti-US 60 minutes interview, talk about whiplash.
Peak political satire:

Don’t you fuck this pie
Anyone else remember Mission HIll? Peak 2000's college burnout humor.
I discovered it as an adult, but dear god thats timeless in the sense of "lost youth" vibes that resonate today.
Fuck yes, absolutely. Great writing and amazing cast. Used to catch it around when it was coming out, but I was too young to really appreciate it. Rewatched it as a 20 something and it was way too relatable lol
lmao, good meme. lets not ignore the sex appeal of legolas though.
bring back medium short hair with tons of gel. My head looks like the inside of an iron maiden
TELL ME WHYYY
cargo shorts are baller, baggy T's and baggier shorts = pure comfort
American Idol
Huge vibes. being excited to get DVR to catch the latest vibes.
Scary Movie and then the sequels and then the birth of a weird run of increasingly bad spoof movies for years
Meet the Spartans was so uniquely bad that it’s impressive tbh
God so much of it was dogshit. The fashions were all awful - and that's even comparing them to like 90s fashions. Music was terrible, too. Max Martin was everywhere, and I fucking hate his songwriting, and even in the spaces where he wasn't you had, what, the garbage pop punk everywhere? It was also when studios really got a handle on how to commodify rap music into pop songs and there was just garbage R&B everywhere.
Movies and TV shows had some bright spots - A lot of Adult Swim content still holds up, and I remember the Judd Apatow deluge pretty fondly though I'd be hesitant to revisit it now. And Shaun of the Dead, ofc.
don't forget the "joy" of nu-metal.
Nu-metal was better than the buttrock like Creed. Wasn't great, though - Slipknot and Disturbed were okay. But its oversaturation did lead to the rise of metalcore, which is good, though at this point we're getting back into subculture stuff so I dunno if that's really under the umbrella of the discussion we're having.
