For some reason lemmy shitpost suddenly became politics focused
I have a hard time handling all the bad shit in the world. I noticed lately I open Lemmy much less because of all the doom posts. I already deleted reddit and disabled YouTube. Lemmy is all I have left as social media, but it's getting less attractive by the day.
It's become so much better since I started banning communities. I might unban them in a year or so, but for now my timeline stays clean.

I don't care about normal politics what annoys me is the Tankies climbing out of the wood work to tell you about the evil evil "west"
It’s kind of unavoidable honestly, and no one should be shocked. Tons of people are finally learning that democracy in the US died years ago. I usually just scroll past or engage in a limited manner. I already have other communities to discuss that stuff and Lemmy is mostly an escape.
Yep, same here. I already have a lot of existential dread about shit I can't do anything about, so why wouldn't I ban them. Hell I have a lot of title words filtered out too

Funny enough, from some of the replies I get to my posts, some of them relating to us politics, I can only assume that people either don't notice or don't care about what instance I'm connected to.
It's a fun game.... At least, I'm entertained by it.
