If you know the Sinatra version, it wouldn't occur to you to ask which version they're referring to.

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 25 points 2 years ago

If you know the Sinatra version you might also know it was done by tons of other people, like Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Mel Tormé, etc. Sinatra wasn't even the original.

Depressed gay people can come from a stable household

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 years ago

Bayonk Evangenatra would be the applicable answer here.

[–] pancakes@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

No, you must select ONE of the playable classes.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

And they can have a vast spectrum of musical tastes. But they will all know "Fly me to the moon."

Ehh my parents are divorced, which I guess has been pretty stable for the last couple decades.

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Divorce is always good news.

"Stable marriage"

You vastly over credit us Sinatra fans

[–] Quacksalber@sh.itjust.works 25 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I've played Fallout, that enough?

Possibly ghoul too

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Ouch. Not wrong but ouch

[–] VeganCheesecake@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 2 years ago (2 children)

If I know all three versions, I'll explode?

[–] sigmaklimgrindset@sopuli.xyz 28 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No, it means your parents had a stable marriage but you are gay and depressed.

Fake. My parents didn't have a stable marriage

Fellas is it gay to like a really fun and challenging action game that stars a super hot and badass woman protagonist

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 9 points 2 years ago

Obviously it's gay to like women, since women like men so you indirectly like men /s

If you have seen Eva but you don't remember this song, you should cancel your Netflix account and find which of your friends runs a Plex server.

[–] RandomLegend@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 2 years ago

Hey hey.....or jellyfin

[–] sasquash@sopuli.xyz 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

ehm I am gay and my parents were divorced. But I only know the Sinatra version. I don't even know the other two bands

[–] TheOakTree@lemm.ee 11 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Bayonetta is a video game, and evangelion is a manga-turned-anime. I was completely unaware that either one had songs called "fly me to the moon" though.

[–] Zahtu@feddit.org 3 points 2 years ago

For Evangelion it was the closing Theme for the anime episodes. As it is such an iconic feature, it was reused (and reimagined) within the movies (the new ones)

Counterexample: I only know the Sinatra one (I'm so uncultured) but my parents split 32 years ago (aw hell; that long ago?) . They're now both split from their seconds.

Divorces are hell; and in some areas like ours, the one party can end up on disability from the heart attack brought on by the stress and paying 105% of that disability benefit to the spouse.

Have instructed the wife to just murder me in my sleep.

From the Halo 1 warthog grenade jump compilation?

If they say "by 王OK", they have it on repeat.

Fly me to the moon 王OK

[–] PlexSheep 4 points 2 years ago

Didn't know what to expect, but this artist is amazing.

[–] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 years ago

Why does Bayonetta make you gay? Is the Twitter OP assuming you would be asking a woman?

[–] solarvector@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 years ago (3 children)

What about, "isn't that a song by Savage Garden?"

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 4 points 2 years ago

🎶Fly me to the moon and back if you'll be, if you'll my baby who plays among the stars🎵

they, like most people, have a higher opinion of SmallAnt1 than SmallAnt1 himself ever will

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

Ok but this is exactly the order those are sorted and accessed in my mind.

[–] QualifiedKitten@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And if they say, "I don't know, I haven't heard it", then what?

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 12 points 2 years ago

They're straight, manic, and their parents never met each other

Accurate; I'm depressed.

[–] Theme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What if I learnt it in my moon jujitsu class?

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Then you probably kick ass

[–] CodexArcanum@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Knowing it from Evangelion probably means you are gay, depressed, and have divorced parents.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And the divorce is your fault

[–] CodexArcanum@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Your mother and I would still be together Shinji, if you'd just piloted the Eva.

[–] JohnyRocket@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 years ago

What if I say Squid Game?

[–] luciferofastora@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

And if I don't know the song at all?

My parents were never married, nor would I have called their relationship "stable".

But I also feel like it's a solid 50/50 on if my brain's going to go with the original, or the version in Bayonetta, and that seems to match up with being pan.

[–] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I mean someone can ask this three question at once, meaning they're gay, depressed, and parent have stable marriage.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@kbin.run 3 points 2 years ago

What if you knew the Astrud Gilberto version first? https://piped.video/watch?v=DudoQ_yx0yo

[–] critical@reddthat.com 3 points 2 years ago

Well, guess I'm depressed
