Hey all, I'm thinking about building a NAS for photo storage for a Lightroom catalog. I currently backup each year to 2TB sandisk portable drives and label them and toss in a fireproof safe. In addition to cloud storage of course.

I was going to buy a 4 bay Synology enclosure, and get a 2 pack of 12tb Red Plus drives from WD, then run this Raid 1.

My question is, can I add 2 more drives later and switch to Raid 5 or 10 pretty easily?

Or would it be a big undertaking switching all that data and cause myself days of headache to avoid spending an extra $500 right now? lol
