Hello, I’m a photographer and currently use the BackBlaze Personal Backup Service. For the past 3 months or so I haven’t been able to get one of my HDDs to properly backup. I’ve tried a few times contacting support with no new suggestions that lead me to any solution. However I do wonder if the drive could be going bad. It’s formatted ExFat and sometimes when I plug it in to my Windows or MacBook Pro it doesn’t recognize it or it takes a long time. I don’t have this issue with my Seagate HDD and Samsung SSD that are also ExFat. I eventually do want to build a NAS system (need to raise the funds) but wanted recommendations on a data backup service that works well and I don’t have to constantly check it all the time. The 30 days retention is kind of frustrating. I’m also aware of BackBlaze’s B2 cloud service but keep seeing bad reviews of BackBlaze overall.
I’ve heard of Crash Pro, Carbonite, iDrive, One Drive. Right now I have about 8TB total of data. This will definitely grow but not super rapidly as I don’t do a lot of video work.
