I'm trying to rip an older anime dvd according to the scene rules:

https://scenerules.org/html/2013_SDX264v1.1.html

I'm used to just using makemkv to rip the video files and then sometimes using handbrake to compress with some of its presets. Scene rules are a bit trickier. I can figure out most of what to do in handbrake, but one hold up is that the rules don't allow the aac audio codec to use ffmpeg, which handbrake does. They recommend apple or nero codecs. So I'm guessing I have to rip audio from source first? I haven't demuxed audio from a dvd before to encode to a certain format and remux back with video (apparently many do this in mkvmerge), so this is new for me.

Would anyone want to walk me through what programs they'd use to rip a sd quality dvd with according to the scene rules for this? GUI apps would be most helpful. I know I could just use command line stuff, but I prefer seeing all the settings laid out. Thank you!
