What's the best case scenario for average lifespan of a hard drive as in which hard drive capacity or model has the best life span
What's the best $/TB right now in AUD if possible
I was reading latest back blaze and the charts read that the drives only last maybe 4 on average before failing
Do SSD's have better life span for just simple cold storage.. I only plan to download large media files to my personal computer every now and then and so am looking for a large capacity cold storage drive that will really only get minimal usage so I am trying to find something long term
Will a ssd be better for this or a mechanical hard drive in the long run.. Think maybe 10 years
Right now my pc only has m.2 and sata SSD's for gaming and cold storage media files
I'm trying to figure out what to buy next for cold storage media files only aka just simple data
Looking for best bang for buck and if that means I have to keep it under 8TB for longevity so be it
Just looking for 1-2 drives max most likely just one drive so I can get some more sata ssd drives to max out my motherboard
Currently I have 2 nvme drives and 2 sata SSD's
