Fwiw I do think that there's something to be said for a reset. I think fbs has become bloated (and well corrupt is a strong word but).
Ultimately, it's just slightly absurd that we have big-time spectator sports being managed by universities and "staffed" with students whose first commitment is to the team rather than their educations, and who must participate in all mandatory team activities, or their "educational" stipend will be revoked.
I think we'll see the SEC in particular feel around the edges of how large the nexus needs to be between the teams and the schools to avoid alienating fans. Personally, given the decades of hypocrisy, I think you could go a pretty long way before you actually get a significant percentage of fans so disconnected that they actually stop watching or caring.
