I’m from a place that does this. Going to hog calling contests was/is a bunch of fun. Theres usually music, midway foods, cake walks, auctions and other shit to get into. Mostly a bunch of white trash farmers and hillbillies but still fun.
I’ve done hog calling contests before. Placed third (only time I’ve ever placed at one) at one. Mostly just an excuse to drink cheap Pilsner beer, get drunk, and fuck around. Gotten drunk at several local bars and ended up in contests for bar tabs, too.
Sounds fun!
