In the grimdark present of America, children are banned from reading. Their entire education consists of PragerU. Kids must spend their entire day at school or at work. They are welcome to go to the park... after crossing a 6 lane stroad with no cross-walk. Failure to comply with 9 PM youth curfews shall be enforced by execution. The use of skateboards and the act of "sitting" is strictly prohibited. The use of "nicknames" without parental consent is also strictly prohibited. The use of medication shall be punishable by no less than one year in prison. The learning of a foreign language shall be strictly prohibited as well. All children must pledge their allegiance to the flag at least every day. God bless America.
But a proposal made by board chair Donald “Mac” Scothorn at the board’s July 31 meeting offered a different solution to resident concerns: prohibit anyone under 18 from visiting the library without adult supervision.
So now, in their quest to erase trans people, they're erasing reading for kids. Madness.

Godawful architecture at the pictured library, what the fuck? It looks like a barracks or a baptist church or something.
My local library where I grew up was walking distance from several apartment complexes and a couple neighborhoods. There were always kids in there--it was a haven. I walked there a lot myself. I really hope this policy doesn't catch on. Libraries are one of the few public places where you can just exist, for free. Kids with bad home situations will have fewer places to go.
