"Even if it's not an act of violence, and it appears peaceful, but it's a violation of the law, blocking roadways, blocking venues, things of that nature, we will declare mass arrests in those situations and make those arrests," Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said.

The 1968 Democratic National Convention protests were a series of protests against the United States' involvement in the Vietnam War that took place prior to and during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Illinois. The protests lasted approximately seven days, from August 23 to August 29, 1968.

You can't protest private corporations - amerika, circa 2024

Been a few years since I got to smell tear gas in my neighborhood, guess I'm going to get to enjoy that spicy pungent smell again soon! Can't wait!

I think it would be funny if there were 0 protesters. Like a concerted effort to display extreme apathy.

What if, instead of showing up to the convention, they all went to the hotels and houses where the DNC members were staying?

Might be more effective, and could possibly foul the PD's plans.

Just have someone pushing every single button on the elevators for a whole week

Pull hotel fire alarms every night at midnight, flatten their rental tires at dawn, set off fireworks outside the security perimeter of the convention, show them no peace for their injustice.

Of course if any of these actions are illegal, please exclude them from any plan of action and please stick to legal forms of protest that won't penalize yourself or others.

The police would suddenly be experts about vagrancy laws. I seriously wonder how many minutes a protestor could peacefully be in a hotel lobby until the cops decided it's time for them to get arrested.

I mean ngl I don't feel like getting arrested for doing something that demonstrably will have zero effect on the ruling class' decision

Imagine just having a block party for Palestine outside the DNC.tony-cheer party-rocking

No reason to protest either of these clown shows. While they are distracted with the political theater, go sabotage murder factories or something

Seeing these perennial $25000 per plate democratic event attendees posting on shitter how happy and relieved they are that they got to an event and didn't see any protestors because the police had cordoned off so many streets surrounding the event.

No fucking way, dawg. These people don't deserve peace for even a second. Not at their elite get-togethers, not at their homes, not at their workplaces where they do most of the evil. No justice, no peace.
