Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Once again, not a drag queen.

It seems the church leaders have developed a sizable lead over the drag queens in this category.

[–] Ranvier@sopuli.xyz 12 points 2 years ago

Churches should be required to have supervising drag queens, would help prevent abuse. Priest you need to meet one on one with a kid? Fine, but only if this fabulous queen here sits in the room with you both.

But that ONE time it was a drag queen like six months ago! See! BothsidesthesameSpOnGeBoB.jpg

He has not been criminally charged, but Texas’ statute of limitations does not cover sexual offenses committed against a child.

Sounds like the pressure now should be on the local district attorneys that are failing to charge him for molesting a child.

[–] MapleEngineer@lemmy.world 75 points 2 years ago

Every accusation is a confession. They were right, we do need to protect the children, from them.

Wait, a "religious" person as a child molester? Say it ain't so! This is the one bad apple I'm sure.

Do I need the /s?

[–] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 59 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No quasi about that.

He confessed to molesting a 12-year-old girl as a 20-year-old.

Zero quasi.

Maybe he was dressed like Quasimodo when he did it

[–] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 years ago

Then that was the wrong mode-o

Do not diddle kids, it's no good diddlin' kids🎶

🎶I wouldn't do it with anybody younger than my daughter, not little kids, gotta be big🎶

🎶Older than my wiiiife, older than my daughter🎶

Weren’t you paying attention?

It was just some petting, no intercourse

[–] snooggums@midwest.social 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Just a little sexual assault.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 14 points 2 years ago

Turns out I may have committed some light child molestation.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

It was just some sexually motivated petting

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

The word you were looking for is "raping."

(Let's not normalize pedophilia by using words that describe sexual acts engaged by people who aren't pedophiles.)

[–] lets_get_off_lemmy@reddthat.com 30 points 2 years ago

Conservatives are just projectors. Everything they are guilty of they blame on political opponents or demonize: pedophilia, gay sexual relationships, corruption, and not caring about the average worker. That's not to say Democrats don't sometimes fall into these categories, but it's definitely to a lesser extent.

Was he advising Trump back when he was pals with Epstein? Because that would make sense.

[–] androogee@midwest.social 22 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Christian leaders don't need secret islands, they have a whole flock willing to serve up children and cover it all up

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Epstein didn't need an island either.

He wanted an island.

Do you think he only started raping girls once he got the island?

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago

Dude got paid to help rich people rape poor people, and he made so much money he could afford to buy an island.

Every account of every job he ever had was that he was unqualified and corrupt, and that he was "friends" with someone in a high enough place to protect him. It's very likely that he was a pimp his entire career and that every job he failed to do well can be explained as a cover for his real role.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

"Spiritual" advisor. That's like sewage advising nuclear waste.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 15 points 2 years ago

So he fits perfectly into that circle, don't you agree?

[–] sunzu@kbin.run 8 points 2 years ago

Pardon incoming?

[–] cabillaud@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

This photo highlights his weird orangeness just fine

[–] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

MAGA's base is always linked to that stuff. Pastors, Cops, Youth Pastors and General Republicans.
