The movie was supposed to be about the hybrid son of a human and a toon. But on the first day of filming, the producer told Ralph Bakshi they changed the entire script.

I convinced my dad to rent this when I was a kid, I was sure it was just like Who Framed Rodger Rabbit. I've never actually seen the whole movie!
