I read that as "violent carpenter bee" at first and was like "… oh no I hope I'm not going to learn something terrible"

I saw one of these the other day. It freaked me out since I had never seen anything like it. They also aren't even native to this continent, let alone region. I need to pull the picture off of my camera and report it.

No joke I was in Mexico a few days ago and saw a bunch of these and couldn’t find any identification for them using my normal apps. I was pretty sure it was a bee and was actually going to post it here! Great coincidence!
