I've been enjoying it a lot, especially moving from music videos to YouTube videos. I wonder if people are confused because they didn't watch the movie that explains why Beavis & Butthead are in the present time and what's up with old and space versions of B&B. I thought it was quite clever.

I would love to be excited about this
However, the kind of humour present in the original Beavis and Butthead would be impossible to air today. Humour where we show in satirical fashion through the use of political incorrectness and insult the failings of our society would be driven off air in a heartbeat.
I will wait and see, but predict this will be a watered down version with little of the original’s heart in it
Hasn't the reboot already been airing?
I watched a few of the current reboot and it was just... meh. It wasn't bad by any means, but I didn't find it to be particularly good - just felt like a college animation project that are ten a penny on YouTube.
I mean, you could argue nothing has changed - but it was fresh in the 90's, not every goon could share their work to the masses within seconds, and the final nail in the coffin was the pivot away from rock music commentary or lampooning pop tunes.
As always though, it's a subjective opinion, and maybe my view is skewed by watching the originals and the 2011 reboot.
The 2011 stuff with them ragging on Jersey shore was golden.
I disagree with your premise. Not only do those types of shows continue to air to this day (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, South Park) but newer shows as well (Veep, Big Mouth, Solar Opposites, etc).
