I want to archive a large number of documents, but don't want to do it on something that requires equipment that is expensive or could break.

I heard using a flashlight and magnifying glass would be possible but annoying. I also heard using photographic slides but I only saw information for that for images, not written documents. Thoughts?

Edit: I'm going to buy the archived material, the thing us I need a way to view it without equipment
