Actually, parties can request your personal information from the government (they will give it to them) and spam you with junk mail. A friend of mine got a letter from the AfD congratulating her on her birthday a few years ago.
I think they can get your address from the voter registration over here in 
. It's easy enough for me to dump mailers directly in the recycling bin on the way in the house.
I personally get super annoyed by the endless text message spam lol
