He’s a horrible fucking person but true or not I think that’s a fucked thing to make fun of someone for. Ridicule his words and behavior, not his illnesses and other such things that he can’t control which he shares with many other better people. The problem is insults like that carry an unsaid message that someone with such a condition is lesser.
That argument is basically saying homophobia is okay when the gay person is a horrible person.
If it was just that single person being hurt, it might be something different, but the problem discrimination is that it hurts all other members of that community.
