so, other than le edgy readme file, how is it different from SearXNG?

  • It has Yandex support (iirc searxng doesn't have yet)
  • A bot protection that actually works
  • Getting results from scrapers individually instead of an agglomeration of them all like in searxng
  • Doesn't require JS to work

These are the main points for me at least
