So when I started using Duolingo, a friend of mine had his friend sign me up to his "school" which means no ads and I think there are other benefits as well. Supposedly you can set up a "school" in the classroom section. If a lot of people wanted to, I suppose someone from hexbear could do that and then admit others as students so they get those benefits?

Chat does this by being a long-form community where topics will remain from day to day unlike the megathread, and it is distinct from c/chapotraphouse in that we ask you to engage in this community in a genuine way. Please keep shitposting, bits, and irony to a minimum.
As with all communities posts need to abide by the code of conduct, additionally moderators will remove any posts or comments deemed to be inappropriate.
Thank you and happy chatting!
Apparently the classroom option is indeed entirely unrestricted and anyone can set one up
You can DNS block all mobile ads
That used to work, but Duolingo caught on to that and made it so that you got built-in ads for the Duolingo subscription when you had regular ads blocked. Since they were just a part of the app itself they could not be blocked.
