The Premise:

I have a vast collection of movies, EPUBs, and FLAC files that I have been accumulating for over twenty years. I would like to securely store these files (and access them regularly) on an external drive that can offer a high degree of durability and reliability.

The Question:

Would it be more prudent to purchase an external HD or an SSD for this purpose?
