I unironically think that horny posting being against the rules is queer sexuality erasure but I also know I'll never win that fight here. It has the same energy as "Gay people can kiss in their own homes but I don't want to have to see it in public!"
this comes up every so often and I don't think it's poorly received. it's really just cis het dudes sexualizing people that causes problems because of how dominant that particular gaze is. now that this site is majority queer, it might be worth revisiting. like we already leave horny posts from obviously queer people up, especially if they're funny, like that gem about pretending to be an imperialist so the hexbear hyenas eat them. but something to keep in mind - it's not always pleasant to encounter sexual content, especially when you aren't expecting it, and it's outright triggering for some. we have to strike a balance and, at least personally, I feel like we're at a good one or very close to one: be funny, don't make being horny the only point of the post, and don't sexualize specific individuals.
I agree with the take about it being triggering possibly. I've had to unfollow queer leftist Instagram accounts because of an excess of hornyposting. I wouldn’t describe myself as sex-negative at all, but sometimes, it's just so damn overwhelming. I am demisexual in a sense, and the only person I feel too strongly about at this point in a romantic/sexual context is my partner. That may be a reason why it's disturbing for me sometimes, but either way, a pinch of horniness isn't that bad... just don't overdo it, I guess. Too much of it is cringe.
Also, when filthy straights hornypost, it's even worse. I actually think my staunch disdain for heteronormativity made me pretty much unironically heterophobic.

Personally I like the lack of that type of content on here. I like that this is a place where you can get a majority funny/ serious posting. There are plenty of other places to get the horny posts it you want to see them imho.
Idk my thing is there are enough people that have a problem with sexual stuff so it needs to be cw and nsfw tagged at minimum. There's plenty of reasons why it would be alienating to femmes, trans people, asexuals to have an excessively horny space. Its particularly bad if its directed at a particular person.
I don't disagree with any of this. Honestly the thing I have the biggest problem with is every time something is posted that is marked as nsfw and potentially horny, folks still dogpile it with OMG VOLCEL POLICE. It just feels like erasure to me. I don't think Hexbear should become a specifically horny place and I definitely think outright pornography has little to no place here, but I also think some casually horny queer stuff shouldn't be shouted down anywhere near as loudly as it is
