I lost a couple friends in 2015-2016 to MAGA.
Sure, back then I wasn't who I am today but I didn't think they were mask-off fascists. None of them recovered, you'll find better friends.
Also near enough to Philly to have heard. Could try to change your friends' minds about this stuff, the US' history of extraction abroad is the reason for the season, and it's well-documented. The solutions they're trending towards will only result in a more degraded condition for everybody.
I can usually hook the fashy people obsessed with migrant caravans or whatever. Even most of those folks are peripherally aware of some US' drug wars and regime change, but once they realize the extent of it, and the dis-proportionality and unjustified nature of so much of what the US has done since WW2, a lot of them do make a real change... Liberals are harder because they even reject the stuff that the CIA brags about on their website.
I can maybe get partly through to them. I'm kinda scared to show my power level with the cold war picking up again.
