Seems like "theologian" undersells it. I mean, he was, but he was also an organist, musicologist, writer, humanitarian, philosopher, and physician.

He was also a pacifist who fought against the atomic bomb, an internationalist, and a precursor of the animal rights movement.

He wasn't perfect (he was quite paternalistic with the Africans for example), sure, but I love this guy.
