“We’re gonna end it on day one … the whole thing is crazy,” Trump said on a Philadelphia talk show.

Vote y'all. Trump will literally make every negative thing you think about this country worse.

Gaza, immigration, EPA, lgbtq rights, corpo regulations, lobbying, corruption will all get much worse under him. And that list doesn't even scratch the surface.

Vote, donate, and volunteer.

Trump would*. Not will. He lost once, he'll lose again.

He's currently leading in the polls and many non Republicans sound exactly like they did in 2016 (Trump can't win)

For the love of all things holy. How many times do we have to repeat that Trump lost while being a sitting president? He even tried to illegally remain in power, and couldn't.

Why bring up 2016 and skip over 2020? Trump wasn't even a true politician back in 2016. Now he is, now people know how stupidly dangerous he is for the country. People wised up.

And the polls mean nothing. The press and poll makers can say "this candidate is leading by a landslide" all they want. And then in the actual election, things are more close to 50/50.

Unfortunately when Trump says stuff like this, he's probably being truthful

Wish I knew what it was like to believe a presidential candidate I plan to vote for tho.

If he was actually truthful he'd be talking about setting up concentration camps, but that doesn't quite fly yet. I give it a few years until the Overton Window is that far right

Do you have specific things in mind or examples of this?

Like for example, Obama talked about Universal Healthcare and making affordable healthcare a "right". I believed him and was super bummed about that and blame him for not being realistic and over-promising, but I also appreciate that the level of suckage was demonstrably less overall than with Bush. Or Trump. Many good things came to fruition.

And what I learned most of all from the Obama experience was that a candidate can be sincere in wanting something but unable to make it happen. IOW, there are serious limits on presidential power (which is good) and mid-term and local elections are in many ways far more important. I also learned that he should have appointed more federal judges and I'm glad that Biden did.

He will.

I hate to say it, but I think it's going to happen.

Hate to say it, but I agree.

The good news is we’re a couple years away from bears in cars…

Remember when Trump said that being president means you can kill political rivals?

[–] Custodian1623@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

His lawyer agreed with the statement while asserting a president's immunity. Did Trump say that in another instance or are you on the far end of a game of telephone?

Vote for Putin's Sock Puppet and your voting for an authoritarian regime.

[–] Godnroc@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I know that was meant as an exaggeration, but the idea of a foreign leader hiding under the table with one arm up and a sock marked up with a marker and googly eyes is fantastic.

Where are the "vote green party" jokers now?

So you've heard it, folks! If you're within the 7.6% aligned with the LGBTQ+ community, go and vote if you don't want protections that let you be treated as actual human beings stripped away. Even half of that, 3.8% would be a massive wave of a difference in an election.
