Hi, I apologise for the nature of the question but I cannot see anywhere the technical explanation of casting and I would like to understand.
Imagine this, a pc with jellyfin server and mullvad vpn active......result = cannot cast to another device in this case a raspberry pi 5 with kodi (it doesn't even identify nothing to cast). But if the vpn is disconnected he can cast with no issues.
I do not have https or remote access to the server enabled on Jellyfin so I think this way it only runs on my private network.
The question is do we need vpn when casting from a pc to another device to protect our privacy or there is no need...technically can anybody explaining me how the packages are delivered. Thank you
