I've heard nothing but good things about him, even from comrades who live in Minnesota.

I mean he's still a billionaire so my opinion of him can only get so high but generally I haven't heard anything actively shitty about him. He got weed legalized and hasn't sicced police on student protesters so far so that's better than most. But I haven't been paying much attention to whatever small things he might have been up to so idk. Good chance he's the next dem frontrunner if he wants it and he doesn't fumble the bag like newsom

Eh, I don't care about that. I just want results.

Plus, his accomplishments on trans healthcare is amazing in a place like Illinois.

I wish i had a single elected official above the local level that didn't actively seek out new ways to be terrible on a daily basis kitty-birthday-sad

I get that.

It kills me that Blagojevich got pardoned by Trump only to just kind of go on chapo then disappear so far as I can tell

As a Minnesotan, Walz has exceeded my expectations, which tbf were pretty low

Same with Dems here in Virginia.

Only ones keeping Glenn Youngkin (worse than Trump) in check.

But that's not saying much, of course.

Hasn't walz actively been to the right of the legislature?

That's where the already low expectations kick in. He's always been a centrist goon (he was my house rep before being governor). But maybe I'm giving him too much credit! I don't follow MN politics super closely.

There are no good governors

why would minnesotans know jack about the governor of illinois?

personally I havent heard anything bad, but I'm guessing he's just benefiting from favorable situations moreso than actually being good himself

Minnesota is a good example of Dems done right.

Same with Illinois recently.

is it? dem mayors ratfucking rent control, police defunding/reform. Plus dem governor caving to corporate pressure and carving out the mayo clinic from democratic hospital staffing boards, and both mayors and governors vetoing rideshare minimum wages iirc.

they got some good stuff passed but wasted the political capital to go significantly further

[–] Pluto@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

Nah, I get that, but I get benefits and accommodations for being Autistic and disabled.

Repubs were willing to take that away from me.

"they got some good stuff passed but wasted the political capital to go significantly further"

I agree.
