[CW: Enbyphobia/Binarism]

  • Binarist: Are you AMAB or AFAB?
  • Me: Why do you need to know?
  • Binarist: I'm just curious.
  • Me: What about it provokes your curiosity?
  • Binarist: ...
  • Binarist: Oh my God, I can tell you're AFAB because you care so much about this shit!

The whole conversation is usually a bit more convoluted than this obviously, but this showcases this line of thinking well enough, and I hate it. What does that last line even mean? Like I said, this kind of interaction, in some variation, has happened to me more than once. There have been people online have who tried to guess my assigned sex at birth, and they always say AFAB.

Little do they know, I was, in fact, assigned male at birth.

You can hear the cogs in their head try to figure it out so they know what brand of sexism to hit you with.

"Are you not performing your masculine duties or your feminine ones?"

The correct answer to the question is, "No." Watch their brain segfault in real time. My son does it constantly and it rules.

So basically, “Are you spicy boi or spicy gorl?”

spoiler

There have been people online have who tried to guess my assigned sex at birth, and they always say AFAB.

Maybe that's just based on the assumption that NBies are all high school girls who are following trends on tiktok or whatever that stereotype is

They refuse to accept that your genitals do not define you as a person

My brain keeps wanting to read that word as "binoculars".
