If you assume both are going to kill you it's good to keep in mind that grizzly bears can run at 30mph for 2 miles or more

I'm going for a solid it depends. Black, Sun and Panda bears seem better than men but polar bears seem much worse. I have no idea about brown bears.

Bears aren't all that likely to attack if you just stumble across one short of unusual circumstances, (you surprise the shit out of it, it has young, you fuck around) so...

Adjusting for population and assuming that only men are killers, you're like 40x more likely to be killed by a man than a bear, but only roughly 4x more likely to be killed by a strange man than a bear
