The fact they ask 10 bucks a month for the full version of the app that doesn't annoy you with endless ads and that people are actually paying for it is fucking depressing, just sheer insanity. That's 120 dollars a year, and Duolingo's just one app out of hundreds that also want to be your landlord

Wow, I've seen it get the reading wrong many times in the questions where you select a bunch of individual words to make a sentence, but never on these. Granted I only ever do the final placement test every once in a while to see where it's at, and not for actual learning, but still. That's pretty bad.

From what I've read, outside of like Spanish and French Duolingo's quality drastically drops. Even there it's only good for absolute beginners imo, or as a supplement to more rigorous methods.
